Born in the Netherlands and resident of the city of Groningen, KEES THIJN is a professional painter and continuously active since 1966. In the beginning (in his own private sphere) he got some technical instructions from teachers allied to the “Kunstacademie Minerva” in the city of Groningen and developed his own style of painting. During this period his paintings showed portraits, still life’s and subjects having a clear relation to his medical background and the environment. Later on he focused his choice of subjects more on social developments and during the last decennium especially on life and perishableness.
